TWO-FER This WEEK The Widows Mites And The Prophecy In Context Walking in the light study series Holy Fire Christian Ministries Part 1 scriptures Lu: 21:1 and he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. Lu: 21:2 and he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. Lu: 21:3 and he said, of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: Lu: 21:4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. Lesson Outline The Bible Speaks of Giving to support the church however most churches only focus on the monetary one mentioned above but the giving of money was not the contextual purpose of this Scripture, in this Lesson we will learn the true meanings of this Scripture and lesson. Part 1: Lesson Explained Luke 21 tells of the offerings customarily given by the people, all the wealthy Men were giving abundantly and as Jesus was observing this a widow came up and gave her last two mites Or a approximately a farthing into the offering plate and this is when he spoke Boldly that the widow had given more than all of them because she gave out of her need (Biblical: Penury= poverty) rather than of her abundance. Today’s lesson is going to explain this in detail so this might me a monetary example but it is only an example. Part 1Lesson: Jesus spoke of giving constantly in his messages to the Jews examples of this are: giving of the word, giving of assistance, giving of Knowledge and giving your all to Him and God Alone. But as you will see there is more to this lesson the just using these scriptures for using them would be taking the scripture out of context which I am 100% against. So as you will see in part 2 of this lesson you will gain an understanding of the scriptures in today’s lesson. First lesson shows How to give nothing more or anything less. Part 2: Scriptures Lu:21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, Lu:21:6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Lu:21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? Lu:21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Lu:21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Lu:21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: Lu:21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Lu:21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. Lu:21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Lu:21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: Lu:21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. Lu:21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. Lu:21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. Lu:21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. Lu:21:1: In your patience possess ye your souls. Lu:21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Lu:21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. Lu:21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Lu:21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. Lu:21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Lu:21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Lu:21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Lu:21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Lu:21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Lu:21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; Lu:21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. Lu:21:3 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Lu:21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Part 2: Lesson As you continue to read you see that the Jews then spoke of the temple and how it was adorned with the finer things and how beautiful it was, when Jesus told them That Jerusalem as a whole would be destroyed even the temple and the Jews then boldly called him master and asked when will this be?……..Lets stop there to explain that the Jews continually asked and challenged Jesus for specific dates so as to try to entrap him so you see the widows mites from part 1 was not the whole lesson it was just an opening for this part of the lesson The prophecy. Jesus Used opening messages Like the widows mites because he knew the hearts of man he knew they would want specifics trying to catch him entrap him, however as you read these scriptures you see that Jesus again turned it around warning them of things to come first before the destruction of Jerusalem He speaks of Earthquakes in different places, Famine Diseases, wars “you see it is Plural Meaning more than one” Rumors of War “Plural as well” False prophets “Teachers” “False Messiahs” brother against brother sister against sister even your mother and father & even your Friends will turn against you…… But this is not all the lesson it is the summation of the prophecy that Jerusalem Will be destroyed as well as the earth for its wicked self serving lustful envious murderous ways, Upon the Savior Jesus’ return. Lu: 21:34 and take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Lu: 21:35 for as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Lu: 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Lu:21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. Lu21:38 and all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him. Part 3: Lesson As you read part 3’s scriptures you see he said heaven and earth shall pass away. There will be an end to the old heaven and the old earth and this is confirmed later in the scriptures but you see Gods words are Eternal they will never pass away. As well as you read, Jesus continued to warn the Jews even further to not get carried away with excessive drinking and partying and worrying about the world and its self serving attitude, so that you would be caught proverbially with your pants down naked and ashamed on the Day of His return because it will be a snare to you a Giant Snare think about it for a minute before we go on how many times in our haste just flipped out because We thought we were right or flew the birdie because someone cut in front of at the light or just plain drove too slow and at the very Moment Jesus returned and you weren’t ready do you think personally you would be allowed in to judgment sinless??
